This is a friendship quilt made in the mid 1870's. Some of the signatures were written on paper and have been laminated by the previous owner. It is 82" x 61 1/2". The quilt block pattern is album and the cotton fabrics reflect the browns, reds, and figured prints of this time period.Context
The quilt has been a Brill family heirloom. It includes the names of many people in the McGaheysville, Virginia and Rockingham County, Virginia areas.Collection
