This quilt was made by Elizabeth Touzard Shelton. Her parents immigrated from Montfarville, Marsche, France. At the age of 20, Elizabeth married Thomas Shelton. The two had a least one son, Edward Walton Shelton, who owned a dry goods store in operation during the Civil War. It is likely that Elizabeth purchased her fabric at this store.Collection
