Description

This quilt contains an Ohio Star or Sawtooth pattern. There are 45 blocks in total. The blocks are set in straight, alternating blocks. The binding is hand stitched, back to front. It measures about ⅛’’ wide and has a straight edge and squared corners. Hand quilted in rows (double diagonal) with about 10 stitches per inch, using cotton white thread. It is in excellent condition.

Fannie Harriet Suter was a housewife who was born March 24, 1875 and died May 29, 1942 in Rockingham County, VA. She was married to a farmer named J- Gabriel Heatwole. She was a Mennonite.
