Red and white pieced quilt. The red fabric contains a white floral pattern, while the white fabric contains black dots. It was likely made using new/purchased fabric due to it mostly featuring white with smaller dots, but there is 1 row of white fabric with larger dots on the right side. Each snowball block is set on diagonal, alternating between the red and white fabric.
The binding is back to front and 1/4'' wide with squared corners. The backing is composed of 4 strips of a tan and white floral muslin, applied vertically by hand. The batting is a thin cotton.
There is an inscription inked by hand in the corners of the quilt that read "W J Brubaker, Grandma Brubaker ... 80 years old." and "W J Brubaker, Grandma B ... Made ... 87 years old."
The entire quilt is hand quilted using single, white cotton thread. The stitches are uneven, but measure about 5-6 stitches per inch. It features straight parallel lines across the whole quilt.
Blocks are arranged into an 18 x 20 pattern, creating a total of 360 blocks.Collection
