Homespun wool whole cloth quilt. The center is quilted with a diamond trellis and floral designs, feathers, and clam shell. It has a quilted border on three sides and rounded bottom corner. It is very heavily quilted. It is hand finished.Context
It was found by the owner in her home in Iowa. The note stated it was made by Mary Ann Brackett Webb Gates and it took her six-weeks to make it. A hand-written label sewn on the back states that it was completed before 1840.Collection
