9.5'' blocks with four points in blue plaindyed and four in either print, plaid, or stripes. Cotton sateen, possibly Cloth of Gold. Set with like-sized blocks. 4'' border. Bias binding with hair-pin braid fringe.Context
The mother of Lucy Catherine Bowie made this quilt for her daughter circa 1950. She used many scraps of clothing from important moments in Lucy's life including a dress from Lucy's first day of school, a costume for a school play, and Lucy's blouse she wore on the debate team. A sentimentally invaluable quilt.Collection
