Each block has a black square center with two sides opposite of red strips and two sides opposite of white/grey strips. Backing is re/black vermiculite period print that was hand seamed. The quilt was hand pieced, foundation technique with black thread. The frame was hand stitched.
The binding is 1/4'' wide, back to front with mitered corners. The back is made up of 3 panels, which were potentially added later. There is no batting or quilting.

The quilt came from the Brenneman family, a pioneer Mennonite family from the Shenandoah Valley.Collection
