Description

Green background with white blossoms and yellow centers. Patterns is in a diagonal diamond design in the center of the quilt. On the top and bottom there are brown branches with the white flowers. "Mother 1940" is embroidered on the back. Hand-finished binding on the back. Quilted with green thread.

Context

This pattern was created by the company Mountain Mist. This company was a batting company. In the wrapper of the batting, they would put these patterns. Purchasers would buy the batting and be surprised by the pattern included. Dogwoods are the state flower of Virginia and are very common in the Shenandoah Valley.
