Description

Hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted Farmer's Fancy quilt. It is dense quilting of diamonds, rosebuds, clovers, circles, and shadow stitching. 20 round designs floating on white ground. Green applique swags with red tassles in border on all sides. Each circle design has two outer rings of triangle points done with multi-colored period prints. There is a 12-point "petal" element inside the rings and a small white circle in the center. There are 37-39 points in the outer rings. Abundant quilting fills the ground. It is noted that the swag boarder is unusual for this pattern as the design is difficult to make. Edge finish is back to front fold, hand bound.
