Pink Embroidered Crib QuiltEntry/Object ID
2007.010.001Description
Pink embroidered crib quilt on cotton sateen background. It is likely that the maker was inspired by the boudoir theme of the 1920s. They would have purchased a commercial pattern and then traced it onto the cotton sateen to create a symmetrical and feminine piece.Context
It is believed that the quilt was made for the donor for her birth and christening around 1927. The quilt maker could have been the donor's mother, Nell Grove Baugher who lived in Harrisonburg, Virginia, or it was the wife of Reverend Williams of the Episcopal Church in town.Collection
