Lucinda Robinson-Rice quilted this circa. 1880's. She was from the Endless Caverns area in Virginia, but moved with her family on covered wagon to settle in Illinois at age five. She would visit relatives in Virginia where she met her husband Dr. Francis Eugene Rice. She then moved to New Market, Virginia.
This quilt was often pulled out by Lucinda's great-grandchildren on rainy days and they would look at the embroidery on the quilt.Collection
