Pieced quilt with square blocks in diagonal rows. Colors alternate between dark and light plaid. Wide outer boarders of various plaids. Hand made, home spun, home woven, pieced.

Context

Purchased from Lost River Craft Coop and Museum in Lost River, West Virginia in 2007. It was in the W & J Wirtz quilt and textile collection donated to the museum for fundraising. Homespun is defined as the fiber being spun at home into yarn. The yarns were woven, generally in a plain weave, into cloth.
