There are a total of 12 different blocks of various sizes, arranged into a 3x4 grid. The smallest blocks measure 9-1/4'' x 9-1/2'' and the largest blocks are 14-1/2'' x 14-1/2''. The entire quilt is pieced and one block in the center is appliqued. Multiple of the blocks are signed and include inscriptions. The blocks are broken into three strips. Blue sashing frames the blocks on the outside and red sashing frames the center column. The quilt is finished with a straight, knife edge binding done by hand.
Hand quilted with straight lines and circles at each cornerstone. They used single, cotton thread to color match the fabric on top.
The backing is composed of 2 horizontal strips, measuring 29-3/4''. It is a print fabric with gray, blue, and purple floral design. The batting is a medium, cotton from Mountain Mist.
There are 2 pins, one of a butterfly in the middle column and one maybe of the group logo? in the right column.Context
