White on White Bride QuiltEntry/Object ID
2007.003.001Description
White on white bride (Wholecloth) quilt with exceptional all-over quilting. Quilting includes a central medallion and crosshatched background. A single 3.75'' border is quilted into a clam shell pattern. The entire quilt is hand quilted with single, white thread. Knots were found on the top of the quilt. The stitches are even and measure about 10 stitches per inch. The quilt is finished with a 0.25'' white applied binding. It is a straight edge with rounded corners. There is a thin, cotton batting.
Likely would have been new/purchased fabric.
The backing is made up of 3 strips of muslin, roughly measuring 10.25'', 32.25'', and 32.75''. There were no seams on the frontContext
