Historic Dumfries, Inc. held "memories of the past" day Sunday at the Dumfries Town Hall. Along with artifacts provided by members of the town, a group known as the Third Virginia Reds brought their Revolutionary costumes and crafts to the lawn of the hall. The Reds, composed of residents of Northern Virginia, was actually a fighting unit during the Revolutionary War. Other items of interest included the historic jail house key, provided by Mrs. Rowena Brawner; a 1736 Stradivarius violin, shown by James Bishop; and the shingle making of Emory Minter in Triangle.
