Biography
Ila Thompson has been interested in art and creating art since childhood. Thompson worked as a graphic artist. She began oil painting as an adult, seeking instruction from many area artists and has traveled and painted the landscapes of Chile and France.
While studying oil painting at the Phoenix Visual Arts Center, Thompson received the "Excellence in Oil Award" for her painting “Solitude” during the Center's annual juried competition.
Thompson was a charter member of Gallery 12 and the Snake River Plein Air Painters. She is also a member of The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho's Museum Artist group. “My goal is to mature and progress as an artist. As artists, we each have our own road to follow, there may be detours or obstacles, but by continuing we will become the artist we would like to be.”
