Biography
Born in Albany, New York, Stickley studied art at the Albany Institute of History & Art and the School of Professional Arts in New York City. Her first professional art job was as an artist for a greeting card company and a magazine company. Her next job, one she held for five years, was as a draftsman. After marrying Tom Stickley in 1949, she was happy to move “out West” with its beautiful mountains and landscapes to paint.
While raising four children in Idaho, Stickley continued with her art. She was the staff artist for the Post Register Newspaper for ten years, was president of the Idaho Falls Art Guild from 1956-57 (now the Eagle Rock Art Guild) and taught art classes for many years.
