Biography
An Idaho Falls native, Sherry (Boozer) Best graduated from Colorado Women’s College in Denver in 1947 with an associate Degree in Fine Arts. Best married in 1948 and is the mother of seven children.
As a lifetime member of the Eagle Rock Art Guild, she learned from many notable artists in the area including Oliver Parsons, Jan Herring, Sergei Bongart, Milford Zorne, and Jim Wilcox. In Addition to exhibiting and selling her paintings and teaching workshops, she also designed commercial logos and signs for local businesses and sold art supplies and frames through her business, Sherry’s Art Service.
Best continued to teach after retiring in 1995. From 1993 – 2007 she presented a variety of art history lectures including “Art in America” in various venues including The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.
