Biography
Carl Purcell is the author of Painting with Your Artist's Brain, a revolutionary watercolor instructional book released by
North Light Books in 2004.
Purcell has taught for over 30 years at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and one of the society's regional representatives. An honor member of the Utah Watercolor Society and a Member of the Nevada Watercolor Society, Purcell holds a BFA and MFA from Brigham Young University.
Purcell is a popular watercolor workshop instructor, having conducted workshops for various art organizations in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, California, Nevada and Oregon. In addition, he conducts his own workshops each year in Zion Canyon, Devon, England, and the Scottish Highlands.
