Biography

Although born in Port Angeles, Washington, Carol Watson grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. In 1964, she married Larry Rolland Watson. The two of them made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their five children. In 1994, Watson and other regional artists opened “Gallery on the Alley.” She loved all types of art and loved showing her work. Her paintings were sold throughout the United States. Watson was awarded first place in the Idaho Watercolor Society's annual competition twice. She was a Merit Member of the Idaho Watercolor Society and past president of the Idaho Falls Art Guild. She served as a project director for the building of The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho for 9 1⁄2 years, raising funds to turn the dream of an art museum in Idaho Falls into a reality. In 2003, she and Larry moved to Lake Placid, Florida, but returned to eastern Idaho in 2013 where she spent the remainder of her life.
