Biography

A lifelong resident of Idaho Falls, Joe Keller has traveled extensively on all seven continents and never tires of gaining visual input. He began painting as a child, but received a physics degree from Idaho State University. As an alternative energy scientist, Keller spent much of his career studying the use of geothermal energy and industrial energy conservation throughout the country. After retiring from the INL in 2003, Keller turned his focus to painting and refurbishing classic cars. His 1908 farmhouse with aspens lining his garage-turned-art studio provides an ideal background for his creative pursuits. Keller is a member of The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, Gallery 12, Bonneville Art Association, Snake River Plein Air painters, and the Eagle Rock Art Guild. He spends countless hours volunteering his time and expertise for art organizations throughout the community.
