Biography
David Grossmann’s evocative landscapes blur the edges between reality, memory, and imagination. Merging classical techniques with a contemporary aesthetic, Grossmann’s work bridges the gap between old and new, tradition and abstraction.
Born in Colorado, Grossman was raised in South America amid the Atacama Desert and the Andes Mountains. There he gained an early awareness of nature’s fragile balance. And, over those formative years growing up between cultures and languages, his bent toward introspection deepened. The inner and outward landscapes of place and culture are themes he continues to explore through landscapes that blur the lines between reality and introspection. He now lives in Colorado, USA, where he, his wife, and their two children are frequently visited by herds of deer and the many birds that wander through their yard.
Grossmann's work has received wide recognition, exhibiting across the United States and in Europe including the Artists Choice Award and the Southwest Art .Award of Excellence at the Coors Western Art Exhibit and in numerous publications, including American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine, Southwest Art, and the Royal Academy Magazine.
