Biography
One of the Eagle Rock Art Guild's original founding members and first president, Suzanne Fonnesbeck was known for her remarkable watercolor sketches. She is noted for her unique approach of “sketching” directly on the paper with her watercolor brushes. Born of French parents in New Jersey, Fonnesbeck spent much of her youth in France and majored in fashion design at L'ecole d'Art Applique de la Mode in Paris. The occupation of France by Nazi Germany during World War II prompted Fonnesbeck to join the French Resistance as a courier. After the Allies liberated Paris, she met Tillman Fonnesbeck, a GI from Logan, Utah, at a USO function. They married in Idaho Falls in 1947.
