Biography
Claudia Whitten, a kiln-formed glass artist, developed her interest in art at an early age, learning art concepts from her mother. She received a Professional Development Grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts in 2006. In 2007, her work was selected by Corning Museum of Glass, New Glass Review. That same year, Glass Line Magazine published an article she wrote about her kiln-formed rollups.
PBS Outdoor Idaho featured Whitten and her aspen piece on their show “Inspired by Nature” in 2014. Nature has been an inspiration for her throughout her work. Her creative training has been developed from studying under numerous master glass artists from the US and Karl Harron from Ireland. A highlight of her education was going to the Northlands Creative Glass School in Scotland, exploring her own concepts under the guidance of Jane Bruce in 2017.
