Biography
Hugh Mossman has primarily worked in watercolor since the early 1980’s and currently lives in Boise, Idaho. His favorite subject matter includes Idaho scenic alpine landscapes, canyons and rivers, and flyfishing scenes. Additionally, he has depicted street scenes from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He states, “my objective in painting is to capture the essence of a subject with a style that is loose and expressive.” Graduating from the University of Iowa School of Law, he is the founder of the Mossman Law Office in Boise, Idaho.
He enjoys Signature Member status in the National Watercolor Society. He is a member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, the California Watercolor Society, and is a Distinguished Merit member of the Idaho Watercolor Society. He is the recipient of many awards and has been published in Splash 17 and several sporting magazines. Hugh Mossman has also held the position of past president of the Boise Art Museum.
