Large Blue-and-White Porcelain Landscape Vase with Applied Chilong and Qianlong Mark
Entry/Object ID
CR0107
Description
Large Chinese blue-and-white porcelain baluster vase with a flared mouth and multiple applied chilong-type dragons arranged around the shoulder and neck. The body is painted with a continuous mountainous waterside landscape incorporating figures, trees and architecture, while the upper section carries scattered floral motifs and a broad stylized border beneath the rim. The landscape draws on traditional Chinese scholarly imagery of figures within an idealized natural setting. The base bears an archaizing four-character 乾隆年製 (Qianlong nian zhi) seal mark, considered apocryphal and consistent with the vase's historicizing decorative character.
