Interlocking Bi-Color Yixing Zisha 'Taiji Yin-Yang' Teapot SetEntry/Object ID
TP0103Description
A highly unique, conceptual two-piece companion Yixing Zisha set. The vessels are designed using a Yin-Yang / Taiji-style geometric interlocking structure. When placed together, they form a single circular column (resembling an ancient storage vessel or Ang 盎), but they separate into two independent, crescent-shaped teapots with asymmetric, organic spouts. This is a complex geometric form. Achieving a perfect flush fit between two different clay types (which shrink at completely different rates inside the kiln) requires advanced, specialized craftsmanship. One piece is a classic iron-rich red Zisha mud, while the other is a high-fired reduction black or segmented zisha mud. Handcrafted by Senior Master of Ceramic Arts Jiang Jianxiang, celebrated as one of the contemporary "Four Small Dragons" (紫砂四小龙) of the Yixing Zisha craft.Made/Created
