Chinese white-metal tea kettle of rounded form with an elongated curved spout, domed lid, and bamboo-form swing handle. Opposing engraved landscape scenes depict mounted travelers journeying through mountainous countryside and figures engaged in a scholarly or pastoral gathering beneath trees. The compositions reflect traditional Chinese landscape imagery, emphasizing harmony with nature, contemplative retreat, and the cultural importance of scholarly pursuits. Fine incised lines, crosshatched foliage, and decorative borders contribute to the vessel's traditional pictorial character.Category
