Small Chinese porcelain snuff bottle of elongated pear-shaped form with a long cylindrical neck, decorated in freely painted polychrome enamels with numerous youthful figures in varied colored robes amid sparse vegetation. The figural decoration probably draws upon the auspicious Hundred Boys (baizi) tradition associated with abundant descendants and family prosperity. Probably late Qing dynasty to Republic period. Base photograph unavailable; recorded as unmarked pending contrary evidence. Accompanied by a domed red stopper with cork plug.
