GL3823Description
Item 23 of 24, part of a specialized Chinese Zodiac / Auspicious Animals set, the pheasant is a classic imperial bird in Chinese iconography, closely associated with high rank, beauty, and solar energy. The artisan distinguished this pair (item #3815) by head and beak alignment: The Yang Pheasant (The Rising Crest) stands with its head held in a sharp, horizontal profile, featuring a raised glass crest/tuft pointing toward the sky. The glass coloration is highly variegated, with contrasting, fiery stripes that represent Yang sharpness, visibility, and pride.Type of Sculpture
