Description
Chinese unglazed reddish-brown zisha-type stoneware teapot of full globular form, raised on a circular foot and extensively decorated with naturalistically modeled flowering prunus branches extending around the body. The loop handle and rising spout are modeled as gnarled tree branches, integrating with the applied botanical decoration. The fitted domed cover incorporates additional naturalistic decoration and is surmounted by a sculptural gnarled branch-form finial. A large square multi-character seal-script mark is impressed centrally within the recessed base, with an additional small impressed seal beneath the cover.
