The 1947-48 basketball season topped all others int the history of Minooka Community High School. The Indians had a season's record of 23 wins and 4 loses, the best showing Minooka High has ever made. The losses were to Coal City and Serena in regular scheduled games, to Newark in the annual Holiday Tournament at Yorkville, and to Streator in the championship game of the Regional Tournament. This year's team accomplished an all time record of firsts for Minooka. They were the first Minooka team to win a conference tournament. They were the first team to go through a conference schedule undefeated - not only the first Minooka team, but the first team in Fox Valley Conference History. They were the first Minooka team to win all of their home games. They were the first team to win a free throw trophy at a conference tournament. They were the first Minooka team to win a district tournament. They were the first Minooka team to go to a regional tournament.
