From History of Grundy County 1882, William Shepley came to Minooka in 1868 and "engaged in the hotel business, which he has since continued; he has been in partnership in the mercantile business, with G. Dahlem, which partnership still exists."
Gerhard Dahlem's bio from the same book " In August, 1878, he engaged with William Shepley, in general merchandise business, which association has since been kept up, the firm name being Dahlem & Shepley."
Gerhard Dahlem died in 1884, Wm. Shepley died in 1892 and are buried in the Willard Grove Cemetery.
