Name/Title
7 Shackford Street, Eastport, Maine | I7-0D4-13 | District #17Entry/Object ID
017Description
This one and half story house likely dates to about 1830. It appears on the 1835 Map of Eastport. It is very similar to the house at 3 Shackford Street, making it likely that they both were built at the same time and by the same builder. It has a gable end roof with a chimney near the center. The front facade has five bays and a center doorway with surrounding trim that suggests a Greek Revival style. There is later covered side porch supported by a series of columns and a later rear addition. The house underwent extensive renovation in recent years and newer siding has replaced the original wood clapboard siding.
