Name/Title
Robert Stark | Model for a Monument to the Future of the Gulf of Maine | 1996Description
From Email from Thomas Michie, May 3, 2024:
Dear Hugh,
It was some time ago that I delivered a skeletal fish sculpture by Robert Stark that the late Christopher Monkhouse had wanted to go to the Tides Institute. At the time, I didn't know its title, but as you see below, Holly Garner-Jackson, the owner of Woodwind Gallery in Machias from whom Christopher purchased it, has just found its title, material, and likely date of production.
Better late than never! I hope this information is helpful.
With best wishes,
Thomas Michie

Hello Tom!
Well I finally found the information that you wanted. this sculpture was called:
"Model for a Monument to the Future of the Gulf of Maine"
It is made of Red Oak
There is a photo of it in an article that was written about my gallery in 1996, so I'm assuming that that was the year that Robert created the sculpture.
Sorry, it took this long to find the information.
Happily retired and downsizing,
Holly Garner-Jackson

Hi, Holly,
Nice to hear your voice after many years. Here is Christopher's fish sculpture by Robert. If it rings any bells I'd love to know more before it heads to Eastport next month.
With many rhanks and best wishes,
Tom Michie
