100Description
This one and a half story building was built in 1888 following the Great Fire of October 14, 1887. It has a gable roof and an original combination first story bay window and covered porch on the front south side of the building facing the street. The original porch post brackets remain. Set on Boynton Hill, the slope of the hill allows for an exposed full brick basement foundation story on the east side of the building with outside entrance door. A later dormer window has been added to the east side roof of the building.
From Eastport Sentinel, October 24, 1888, p.3,c.2: “Hugh Muldoon is having a very neat residence built on his lot on Boynton Hill. The store building that he moved to this lot from Water street a year ago, would never be recognized now in the neat dwelling, with brick basement, piazza and bay window.”
