Gift of Gail Menzel of Pembroke, Maine in 2014. Model made by Craig Little of Calais, Maine. Documentation certificate and other reference materials on file. The schooner is named for a granddaughter of Gail Menzel, Cassie Orr, and has no historical basis. This was confirmed again in a telephone conversation with Gail Menzel on April 2, 2021. Remarks from model maker, Craig Little: "Eastport Pinky is a well known sailing fishing vessel and popular as a vessel of commerce. They were a fast sailing vessels, very sea worthy under adverse sea and weather conditions. Until they started powering the fishing vessels with gas engines. From Essex, Massachusetts, Maine and throughout the Canadian Maritimes. Eastport and Lubec, Maine was famous for their pinkies. The Pinky had been built using different sail arraignments from a sloop, cutter and schooner. The schooner pinky can be traced as far back as 1812.
