When we posted the photo of Arnold's house on our facebook page on March 20, 2014, we got this response:
Carolyn van Beek-Outwin
My grandfather, Edward Owen North, was paid some $20 (?) dollars to pull this house down around 1905 or so. It was in such poor condition, it was feared that anyone entering the building would be hurt, or killed. The house was located on Campobello where the look out is at Friar' Head. As you drive up to the look out, to your right is a flat piece of ground. That's where the house was. It looks isolated because there are no trees around it, and indeed at the time there were few trees on the island.
Someone also replied that there was a painting of Arnold's house in the museum part of the Campobello library.
