JOSEPH KALISH HOUSE
Since this building has been unoccupied since June 1974, and therefore is no longer a Jewish synagogue, the 1979 photo will not be used. The two story wooden frame building has two bay windows, a pair of round headed windows in the center frontof the second story capped by a curved lintel and a rounded projection extending above the roofline. The cornice is supported by paired brackets. In 1924 this building was given to the Home of the Congregation of Chaim Y osef, the only Jewish synagogue ever to exist in Washington County. It stands at 63 North Street. JCB, AFN
