Bucknam House | 19 Key Street, Eastport, Maine | I7-0C3-13 | District #42Entry/Object ID
042Description
This federal style house was built in 1821 by local architect and builder, Daniel Low.. William P. Bucknam was the original owner of this two and one-half story wood frame house. The Bucknam family was involved with various forms of shipping, fishing and navigation. The house is an exact replica of the Livermore House across the street that was also designed and built by Daniel Low. The similarity is not easy to see as the two buildings are oriented in different directions. The house has a five bayed front which faces the street, gabled roof with chimneys at either end and narrow wooden clapboards. It was known as the Parsonage for many years.
