Trefrey Block (NR) 103 Water St., 1887, Italianate. Meredith Trefrey was a sailmaker, who lived in a second floor apartment of his block. He had the Block designed by the noted architect H.N. Black, who also designed the Leavitt and Sharland Blocks. The Western Union Telegraph Company and the jewelers, Forrest and Roche, were on the first floor.
