SEWALL MEMORIAL CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
Jotham Sewall founded the Dennysville Congregational Church in 1805, and the Congregational Church in Robbinston in 1811, as well as other churches. The first building was similar in design to the Dennysville Congregational Church, and the Robbinston church was built in the 1830s. After this first building burned in 1911, the present Congregational church in Robbinston was built in 1913, named after his grandson, Rev. David Sewall. An example of early 20th century church architecture, this second building has stained-glass windows (made of "ribbon" glass), donated by the Sewall children. Recently the building has been remodelled, but has the same pulpit and other interior furnishings as the first church built in the 1830s. Evening worship services have continued weekly since 1992.
