LIBERTY TOWN HALL
Liberty Town Hall was designed and built by Andrew R. Gilson of Machias in 1873. This large two story clapboarded structure with a central square tower is an excellent example of the ltalianate style of architecture. The comers of the tower and first story of the building have wooden quoins. The windows have heavy ornate lintels, and the towers denticulated cornice is supported by paired brackets. Each side of the tower has a pair of round headed apertures with a circular opening above. The roof of the bell tower has been remodelled. Liberty Hall faces east on Route 92, and has served as a center for social activities and meetings for many years. AFN, FAB
