From Sunrise County Architecture (2nd revised and enlarged edition) 1996, p.63:
OBEDIAH HILL HOUSE
Obediah Hill, Jr. was a merchant who had a store in town. His house was built in 1824 by Aaron Sherman, and has transitional stylistic features of the Federal and Greek Revival of architecture. The front entrance has a large semi-elliptical fan, typical of the Federal period, yet the house has a gable roof, wide cornice, and is blocky in proportion. This two and one-half story residence sits on a hill on High Street. Obediah Hill is buried at Holmes Falls on the Machias River. AFN,
