SAWYER MEMORIAL CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
D.aniel James Sawyer paid for the construction of the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church in 1885, and the building was finished and dedicated in June, 1887. Charles A. Allen of Cherryfield was the architect and nlaster builder. The Congregational Church has dentil ornamentation of its pediment and center front projection, and the gable is emphasized by the ornamental woodwork on the building. The church was once painted in contrasting colors to emphasize the stick style of architecture, but is now painted a solid white. AFN
