Columbia, Maine From Sunrise County Architecture (2nd revised and enlarged edition) 1996, p.84: LITTLE RIVER METHODIST CHURCH The Little River Church was built in 1858. Hilman Allen, Root Ingersoll and John Puffer funded the construction of the building, and may h<;tve been the builders as well. This Greek Revival Church has an entablatured doorway, triangular pediment, and a tall bell tower set on a square base. The bell was cast by the McWilliams firm in Boston, and transported to Columbia by ship. It was the gift of John Puffer, and was added in 1871. The church sits by the Little River. AFN
