EPPING BAPTIST CHURCH
The Epping Church was constructed in 1829, and was the first church in Columbia. It later changed to a Union Church, and became known as the Columbia Union Church. The exterior was substantially remodelled in 1870, and the design reflects Greek Revival influence with its triangular gabled pediment, wide cornice, and comer pilasters. The belfry also has comer pilasters and crenellation of its roofline. The windows and doors of the Columbia Union Church have interesting geometric framing. AFN
