This two story pressed cement block constructed building began as the Mabee Lumber building and was built about 1940. George Balkam, a mason, built this building and made the concrete blocks used in its construction. The building has seen many uses over the years since the Mabee Lumber company ceased operations including a seasonal wreath making facility; a restaurant, bar and gallery; and currently as a medical marijuana growing facility.
Hollis Matthews on June 28, 2013 said that George Balkam, a mason, built this building and made the concrete blocks used in its construction.
