Name/Title
Eastport City Hall | 22 Washington Street | I7-0B4-21/22 | District #102Entry/Object ID
102Description
This one story building was built in 2004 as Eastport’s City Hall building.
From Bud Finch, 11-23-2024, former Eastport City Manager at the time:
"City Hall was built in 2004 on the foundation of the old A&P building. The City got the grant in 2003 to build the new building."
From comments to Facebook post of Tessa Chaffey Ftorek of Eastport, Maine, June 7, 2025 asking: "I have two questions for you local historians. What year did the OLD A & P close? What year did the NEW A & P close?"
[The "OLD A & P" refers to the A&P that operated on the first floor of the Masonic Building. The "NEW A & P" refers to the new building that the A&P built across from the Post Office building. This was later replaced with the Eastport City Hall building.]

The new A&P opened early 1968 (2/14/1968) I believe, so the old one probably closed in 67?

Spring of 92 the new A&P was still open, just by a thread!! I think by that Fall it had closed!
