Inscribed on Trumpet: Presented to F.A. Buck by the Members of Eureka Engine Company No. 1, Eastport, 1874 Horn is 21" long and the bell part is 6 3/4" in diameter. From The Quoddy Tides, December 11, 1970, Page 12: Mrs. Arlene Vaughn of Eastport recently presented to the Peavey Memorial Library, on behalf of the late Frank A. Buck's grandchildren, his fireman's silver trumpet. This trumpet, engraved with his name, and that of his company, was presented to Mr. Buck as fire chief by the members of Eureka Engine Company No. 1, Eastport, in 1874. The fire engine which belonged to that company was in the parade on October 15th when Eastport celebrated Maine's Sesquicentennial. The trumpet is now on display in the Reading Room of the Library. Placed on permanent loan in 2014 from the Eastport Library Association of Eastport, Maine. Loan agreement on file.
